Biography Part 1: The Origin Of The Name 'Despu Palliton'

The name DESPU PALLITON comes from a dream

"I was on a two week vacation from New York City, mostly because of my visa, visiting my parents and friends.

I remember very vividly that I had been to a Möped Lads concert at the Boa Bar, Lucerne, 10th March 2000. The whole night was energizing, loud, fun - a big binge. Some of us (musicians everyone) ended up in a 'Polish cathouse', a nearby train station, where we didn't bang, but drink some more canned beer with Polish and Russian women.

When I got to the trains a few hours later, I was in perfect condition for a good morning sleep. I fought myself into the train and crashed immediately.

The sleep was good. I wasn't physically uncomfortable, nor stressed out by anything else really. Onboard were only a few nothingsayers. The train pulled his own weight through the landscape towards the white mountains, as peaceful as it can be.

All of a sudden I woke up, talking to myself.

Now I had this beautiful panorama in front of me. Lake Zug underneath, quiet in the cold, clear winter air, and right behind the still waters, the snowed hills of Arth, increasingly growing into the upcoming, well known mountains of my old homeland, central Switzerland.

Contemplating the scenery, I had this word on my tongue, and I realized that I had woken up because of that word.

Still pretty much beside of myself, I grabbed pen and paper to write it down mechanically. It read: DES PU PALLITON.

Those letters had an incomprehensible sense, a sound. It felt like someone had whispered them to me from another world. It had its impact on me.

It had me."
